APPLICATION
U5034 MOLY AIR-DRYING FILM is pure molybdenum disulphide in an air drying bonding resinate for spray or brush application. It provides lubrication where oil and grease cannot be used e.g ( where there is danger of dust contamination) is excellent for the pre-treatment of part such as gears and slides before assembly. It is also ideal for the lubrication of small mechanisms
U5034 MOLY AIR-DRYING FILM is ideal for this purpose.The film prevents scuffing during the initial stages of running in new components.After assembly it provides exceptional, long lasting lubrication, which gives a considerable reduction in wear and consequently lengthens the life the life of a component. The sub-micron particle size of the molybdenum disulphide used in this product(average 0.4 micron) makes it possible to apply an extremely thin film that will not interfere with normal assembly tolerances. If components are to be stored befor use,U5034 moly air-drying film will inhibit corrosion during the indoor storage period and provide immediate lubrication when they are put into use
U5034 MOLY AIR-DRYING FILM is supplied for spray on or for brush on application.When sprayed on the film dries completely in 5 minutes and parts treated can be handled without fear of disturbing the layer of molybdenum disulphide.Spraying is particularly suitable for lubricating inaccessible or intricate part.When applied with a brush the film thickness is greater and the dring time increases, such application should therefore be confined to uses wher quick drying is not essential, tolerances are less critical and parts easily accessible. Alternatively parts can be dipped.
Afurther and considerable improvement in lubricity, particularly where parts are subjected to extreme pressure can be effected by appropriate pre-treatment. Normal steels may be phosphated and stainless steels can be fine grit blasted or treated chemically to produce a surface bloom. The objective in all instances is to produce a micronic roughness to which the U5034 Moly Air-Drying Film can key, thus forming a surface reservoir of lubricant that will last throughout the bedding-in period
U5034 MOLY AIR-DRYING FILM is recommended for use in bolts , screws , nuts , bushings , splined shafts , lead screws , slide ways , shafts guides , massive forming tools valves , enclosed & open gears , chuck machine tools
It is essential that all parts are thoroughly clean and free from oil when U5034 Moly Air-Drying Film is applied to ensure a good bond
